Summer Flowers

The Island of Runde is home to various species of birds, including puffins. If you look closely you can see a seagull dive bombing an eagle.

Tip: Go on one of the boat trips around the Island to see the various bird species.

Ready Set Go

The island of Runde is home to an enormous population of birds, including the Puffin. During the day the puffins are out to sea and come in the nest in the afternoon or early evening. One of the best ways to see the puffins is to go on a guided boat tour around the island.

The Island of Runde is a protected area and home to widest variety of sea birds species in Scandinavia, including the shag pictured here with a lone seagull.

Circling Home

Runde - Homes

The Island of Runde is home to approx 150 people. Bird lovers flock to the Island to catch a glimpse of the protected wildlife. We ventured there in the middle of summer for a day trip.
